Force In Training
Force in Training (FIT) is a soft skills, job readiness workshop taught by industry leaders each October. Students who complete the training and pass the FIT exam will receive a certificate. Ask your teacher for more information.
ServSafe® California Food Handler Training – California Food Handler Card is required by law for most restaurant workers. ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification - California law requires every foodservice establishment to have at least one employee who holds Food Protection Manager Certification. The exam will be administered at the end of the review session and includes 90 multiple-choice questions. Certification must be renewed every five years.
Certificate of Achievement
This is your passport to the future. Earning the COA can give you a leg up in your job search, and opens the door to collegiate opportunities. To earn the ProStart National COA, a student must pass “The Foundations of Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts” Level 1 and Level 2 exams, document 400 hours of work experience and demonstrate proficiency on more than 50 workplace competencies.
CA Workforce Ready Card
Show that you’ve got what it takes to work in the hospitality industry! Talk to your teacher about completing the requirements below. Once your teacher has signed off on these requirements, you will be awarded a CA Workforce Ready Card powered by the California Restaurant Association Foundation. Requirements: pass your ProStart class final exam, pass the ProStart class, complete least 35 out of 46 required competencies, obtain ServSafe® CA Food Handler Card or ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Card.
